John Schneider sentenced to jail after failing to pay alimony to estranged wife

"Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider has been sentenced to time in prison for defaulting the payment of spousal support to his estranged wife, Elvira.

The 58-year-old actor was handed over the punishment of spending three days in LA County jail by the judge for failing to pay delinquent alimony he owed.

According to TMZ, Schneider had to pay up over USD 150,000 till March.

Besides jail time, he will have to do 240 hours of community service.

The former couple got married on July 11, 1993.

Elvira (nee Castle) filed for divorce from Schneider on December 12, 2014.

They have three children Leah, Chasen and Karis together.
