Filmmaker Joss Whedon has criticised the newly-released "Jurassic World" clip.

The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" director described the new footage - featuring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard - as "'70s era sexist", reported Collider.

The scene sees Pratt's dinosaur-keeper Owen Grady chat and flirt with Howard's uptight operations manager Claire Dearing.

Responding to a post referencing Chris Pratt's looks in the preview, Whedon wrote: "I'm too busy wishing this clip wasn't '70s era sexist. She's a stiff, he's a life-force - really? Still?"

"Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow has yet to respond to Whedon's comments.

The fourth instalment of the "Jurassic" series will be released over a decade after "Jurassic Park III", as the Masrani Global Corporation seeks to open a brand new theme park.

"Jurassic World" opens on June 12 in the US and the UK.
