Jr Engineer arrested for accepting Rs 50,000 bribe

A junior engineer was today arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau here for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 for clearing the pending bills of an electricity contractor in Alwar district.

Dinesh Yadav, a junior engineer in Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation, was arrested for accepting the bribe money for clearing the bills and other dues amounting to Rs 17 lakh including Rs 13 lakh of deposit money from electricity contractor Sitaram Gupta, an ACB spokesperson said.

The accused also demanded a commission of three per cent on the bills, the spokesperson said, adding, in first instalment Rs 50,000 was demanded from the contractor in Bhiwani Industrial area.
 

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been lodged against the engineer.
