Kanpur Police begin verification drive of outsiders living in

Kanpur police today launched a drive to collect information about those from outside staying in the city for work, education, or any other purpose.

In the first phase, Station House Officers (SHOs) have been asked to collect information, including family details, of 200 such people in their jurisdictions, said SSP Shalabh Mathur.

Apart from helping track any suspicious activity, the data would help identify those who might have come here after committing any crime back home, he said.
