An employee of a bookshop at Karamadai near here was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of attempting to outrage the modesty of a teenage girl, police said.
The girl, studying in ninth standard, went to buy a notebook a couple of days ago and the employee hailing from Thrissur in Kerala tried to misbehave and outrage her modesty, police said.
The girl narrated the incident to her parents who lodged a complaint, they said.
A case under POCSO Act has been registered and the accused sent to jail, they added.
