Kingpin of FICN smuggling racket held

Satyendra Yadav, a kingpin of a Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) smuggling racket, was arrested today by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) from Bihar's West Champaran district, DRI official said.

Acting on a tip off, the DRI sleuths nabbed the accused with help of the local police from Bettiah town, the official said.

A native of Dakshin Telua villge, Yadav was running a racket for smuggling of fake currency notes, they said.

The DRI had earlier this year arrested his elder brother Pradeep Yadv from Muzaffarpur railway station with FICN of the face value of Rs 9.94 lakh, the sources said.
 

Yadav's role as a kingpin of FICN smuggling racket had come to light recently following arrest of two persons with FICN with face value of Rs five lakh from a bus stand in Darbhanga district.

The accused had plans to recruit youths to spread his network of smuggling of counterfeit notes, the sources said.

Yadav was produced before a designated court handling economic offences and remanded to judicial custody till October 22 next, they said.
