KUFOS To Host India-International Food and Agri-Aqua Expo 2014

The India International Food and Agri Expo, focussing on agro machinery, organic based farming systems and value additions, will be held from October 30 to November 3 at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS).

The sixth edition of the Expo is being jointly organised by the Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development and KUFOS in association with NABARD, Department of Fisheries, Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, M P E D A, Directorate of Cashew &Arecanut,Coconut Development Board, Kerala Agricultural University and Veterinary University, a release said.

The five-day exhibition and workshops will focus on agro machinery expo, India organic fair, processed food expo, animal husbandry expo, organic aquaculture organic Spices, organic coconut based farming systems, farm mechanisation, quality assurance, value additions and market linkages.
 

The IIFAE, which is an important trade exhibition for the agricultural and fisheries sector of the country, aims at development of the Indian agriculture and food industry by discovering the latest technologies for farm process management and food production and processing that can ensure efficient, increased and sustainable production as well as improved quality of food products.

It also provides a platform for numerous business opportunities in the sector by attracting thousands of professional exhibitors and visitors such as farmers, industrialists, executives of Indian and Foreign Industries, Investors, Traders, Importers, Exporters and also General Consumers.

The Expo is a space for buyer-seller meet on fruits, spices and organic products as well.

The Organising office of the Expo was inaugurated by KUFOS Vice Chancellor Dr B MadhusoodanaKurup at the University. P C Cyriac, Chairman, Foundation for Organic Agriculture and Rural Development and former Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu, presided over the function.
