Swaraj Abhiyaan, an organisation founded by expelled AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, today demanded resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje over the 'Lalitgate'.
It demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi break his silence on his government's and party's role in the case, as well as spell out his plans of bringing back scam-tainted former IPL chief Lalit Modi to India.
The organisation also sought initiation of criminal proceedings against Raje.

"The Sushma Swaraj case has highlighted the need to have strong conflict of interest laws in the country. Many of our politicians and bureaucrats operate in situations of serious conflict of interest.
"Instead of plugging this loophole in our Prevention of Corruption Act, the Modi government wants to weaken it by removing the part dealing with criminal misconduct," a statement by Swaraj Abhiyan said.
It also accused the BJP-led NDA government of weakening the anti-corruption institutions saying, Modi government which came to power on anti-corruption plank was making every effort to weaken the anti-corruption institutions in the country such as the PC Act, the CBI, the CVC, the CIC and even the judiciary.
"It would not be surprising, therefore, that they do not take any action against Vasundhara Raje and Sushma Swaraj," the statement said.
Noting that the Raje's case was even more "gross" as she had secretly helped Lalit Modi for his travel, and his son had been found to have been the recipient of Rs 11 crore of laundered money from Modi's companies.
Opposition today launched a fresh offensive seeking the removal of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over the 'Lalitgate' as the BJP and the Modi government maintained a studied silence on the swirling controversy surrounding them.
