Lawyers burn copies of amended Advocates act

A group of lawyers today burnt the copies of amended Advocate's Act as part of their ongoing protest seeking its immediate withdrawal of the amendmens, here and nearby Tirupur.

The lawyers were on agitational parh for the last one fortnight seeking its withdrawal.

As part of the agitation, the advocates burnt the copies near the District court complex here.

A few lawyers also attempted to burn the photograph of Madras High Court Chief Justice S K Kaul, police said.

Meanwhile, the lawyers burnt the copies of the act near Sub Court in Tirupur, they said.
