Scores of lawyers from western Uttar Pradesh would remain on strike till August 26 to press for their demand for the formation of a Allahabad High Court Bench in the region.
The District Bar Association, which had earlier given the strike call from August 16 to August 20, said that it would extend the deadline till August 26.
On the last day of the strike, the lawyers from 22 districts would gherao Parliament, it said.

"We have extended our strike. Lawyers will now continue observing strike till August 26. On the last day of strike, lawyers of 22 districts of western UP would gherao Parliament.
"We are demanding the formation of Allahabad High Court Bench in western Uttar Pradesh," said Rakesh Tyagi, president of the Association.
Due to lawyers' strike, work in various courts would remain affected till August 26.
