Lead prices eased by 0.09 per cent to Rs 164.75 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced exposure amid weak demand at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June shed 15 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 164.75 per kg in business turnover of 605 lots.

However, the metal for delivery in July held steady at Rs 165.30 per kg in 2 lot.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from battery-makers in the physical market weighed on lead prices in futures trade.
