Lead prices rose further by 0.17 per cent to Rs 147.35 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in enlarging their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in
August was trading higher by 25 paise, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 147.35 per kg in business turnover of 16 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July edged up by 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 146.10 per kg in 1,552 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders following upsurge in demand from battery markers in the physical market, mainly kept lead prices higher at futures trade.
