The Left Front and Congress today staged walkout from the West Bengal Assembly separately after being "denied" discussion on the adjournment motion on the issue of deaths in Tea gardens.
"We have staged a walkout for the day after the Speaker denied a discussion on the adjournment motion on the issue of deaths in tea gardens. We were allowed to read the adjournment motion, but denied a discussion," CPI(M) leader Anisur Rehman said.
"We decided to stage a walkout protesting against the attitude of the state government," Rehman said.

Congress too decided to stage a walkout after their adjournment motion on the same issue too was denied a discussion by the Speaker.
"We have decided to stage a walkout for the day, protesting against the inhuman attitude of the government. Why is the state government not publishing a white paper on the issue. We demand a white paper be published on this issue," Congress leader Manas Bhunia said.
