Light to moderate rain in west UP

Light to moderate rain occurred in most parts of western Uttar Pradesh while moderate fog was witnessed at a few places in the state.

According to the Met department chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was 4 each at Jhansi and Lalitpur; Orai, Kalpi and Mahroni - 3 each and Rampur-2.

The night temperature changed little over all divisions of the state.

It was markedly above normal in Faizabad, Agra divisions, appreciably above normal in Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Kanpur and Jhansi divisions, above normal in Lucknow, Meerut divisions and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.

Lowest minimum temperature at 6.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Muzaffarnagar.
