BJP, which won two of the six seats in the Maharashtra legislative council polls, today said the upcoming municipal council and nagar panchayat polls will help it improve its performance in the next biennial elections.
In a statement, state BJP president Raosaheb Danve said his party aims to do well in the local bodies elections to be held in the coming months and it will help the party win maximum seats from the local body constituencies and improve its position in the legislative council.
He also said the success of BJP in the by-elections in different parts of the country was an indication that people were supportive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation move.
