"Disputes with regard to acquisition of land measuring 20.5 hectares in several villages of Anantnag district were settled amicably in the mega Lok Adalat. The awards passed were for an amount of Rs 35 crore by enhancing the compensation in favour of land owners," an official spokesman said.

The Lok Adalat was held at Dak Bungalow in Anantnag under the chairmanship of principal District and Sessions Judge Abdul Rashid Malik.

Anantnag District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Lone and other officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner, Collector of Land Acquisition and Project Director of the NHAI participated in the Lok Adalat, the spokesman said.
