A 27-year-old woman and her 38-year-old lover, both married, allegedly committed suicide at a park here, police said today.

Police said the woman belonged to Nangal Karar Khan whereas the man hailed from Chhawani area.

The duo consumed poison in front of a few others last night, they said.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared them dead.

Police have recovered a suicide note from the scene which said the two were taking the step as per "their own will".

Initial investigation suggested the two were "not happy" in their married lives.

Sources said their family members did not want a post-mortem or registration of an FIR.

The bodies were handed over to the family members after necessary formalities under section 174 of the CrPC.
