Maha Snooker Selection: Pherwani sails into pre-quarters

Sparsh Pherwani, winner of the first leg, scored his 3rd successive win defeating Nikhil Saigal of Khar Gymkhana by a narrow 3-2 margin in a Group-A match of the snooker competition of the BSAM Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-2) Championship.
Pherwani defeated Saigal 41-67, 55-44, 31-62, 64-38 and 62-43.
In another match of the same group, Bombay Gymkhanas billiards marker Sanjay Gamre got the better of JVPGs Sanjiv Shah 3-2 (62-8, 52-60, 48-34, 28-63 and 60-18) for his second win.
Pherwani, who represents the Cricket Club of India, with an all-win record topped the group, while Gamre was second and they both have qualified for the pre-quarter-finals.

Group-F: Shivam Arora (Khar Gym) beat Gaurav Jaisinghani (Vashi) 3-0 (76-9, 63-34, 62-23); Rayaan Razmi (ECC) beat Abhimanyu Gandhi (Otters) 3-1 (64-16, 21-69, 63-36, 51-30).
Group-G: Anand Raghuvanshi (Hindu Gym) beat Rishabh Gohil (ECC) 3-2 (46-47, 39-52, 61-28, 54-1, 76-8); Mayank Bhavsar (KVSC) beat Selven Samuel (Otters) 3-0 (62-29, 65-20, 53-29).
