Press Trust of India Mumbai
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) today cut prices for the CNG used by motor vehicles and home PNG following a drop in the domestically produced gas.

The compressed natural gas prices have been cut by Rs 1.05 a kg to Rs 41.90 and the domestic piped natural gas prices have been cut by 54 paise per standard cubic meter to Rs 25.31 per SCM, it said in a statement.

The price cut is "consequent to a reduction in price of domestically produced natural gas by the government of India," it added.

Prices in the satellite townships like Thane, Navi Mumbai etc, which have separate municipal corporations, will also be reduced but the cost of retailing may differ because of factors like the Local Body Tax (LBT).
