Malayalam actor Augustine passes away

Malayalam actor Augustine died at a private hospital here today after a prolonged illness, family sources said. He was 58.

Augustine is survived by his wife and two daughters, including actress Ann Augustine.

Augustine, who acted mainly in comedy roles, was not keeping well for the last three years.

He had acted in over 100 films, including 'Chandralekha', 'Aavanazhi', 'Devasuram', 'Commissioner', 'Nandanam', 'Kaazhcha' and 'Shutter'. His last film was 'Kadal Kadannu oru Mathukutty'.

He also produced 'Mizhi Randilum', which was directed by Renjith.

A number people from the film industry paid their last respects to the departed actor.
