Mamata Banerjee congratulates Bagan on maiden I-League title

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today congratulated city football giants Mohun Bagan on clinching their maiden I-League title.

The city erupted with joy after Bagan drew their last league match with Bengaluru FC 1-1 to race ahead in the points table and win their fourth national title.

"After 11 years the Football I-League trophy comes back to Bengal. Congratulations Mohun Bagan," Banerjee tweeted.

Another Kolkata giant East Bengal had won the national league 11 years ago.
