Man arrested for embezzlement of funds of housing society

Chandigarh police today claimed to have arrested one person for alleged misappropriation of funds of a housing society here.

Ashok Kumar Kukreja, a resident of Chandigarh, has been arrested, police said in a release here.

According to a joint compliant made by Gurlal Singh and Ranjit Singh, it was alleged that Kukreja misappropriated society's funds to the tune of Rs 8 crore, police said.

A case under various sections of IPC was registered against him in 2014. Kukreja was elected as President of the housing society in 2010.
