Man arrested for raping step daughter

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 14-year-old step-daughter for the last seven months, police said today.

A woman neighbour helped the police in arresting accused Mahendra Sonar.

Sonar was married to a woman in Giridih. He later came in contact with a divorced woman here and fathered two children -- a three-year-old boy and six-month old daughter, they said.

The accused allegedly raped the divorced woman's 14-year-old daughter from her earlier marriage.

Following the victim's claim that Sonar had been raping her for the last seven months, the neighbour informed the police and he was arrested.
