Man arrested for smuggling weapons

A man was arrested today on charges of smuggling arms when he was going to deliver a consignment of weapons to a person here, the police said.

He was arrested by the Sihani Gate police on a tip off, they said.

The accused is a resident of Muzaffarnagar district and 31 finished and semi-finished weapons, and 16 cartridges were seized from him, Superintendent of Police (Control Room) Manish Mishra said.

The accused has confessed to his crime, the officer claimed.
