The police arrested a 52-year-old person from the city today afternoon on alleged charges of stabbing his wife and her friend, a police official said.
Police sub-inspector S S Kadam of the Kapurbawdi police station told PTI that the accused Pradeep Kir suspected his wife's fidelity and hence resorted to this step.
Today afternoon at about 1.30 pm, he followed his wife Pooja (34) and her friend Manjeet Anand (43) to an automatic teller machine (ATM) where the duo had gone.

At the bank ATM situated in the Kapurbawdi locality, the accused stabbed both of the them, the police official said.
The police official said that both of them who were badly injured due to stab wounds were rushed to the hospital and are out of danger.
The accused has been booked under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the Arms Act, the police official said.
