Man awarded life sentence for killing wife

A local court today awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his wife.

Passing the order, Additional District Session Judge in North Dinajpur, Santanu Das also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Ajoy Halder in his verdict.

Ajoy (38) poured kerosene on his wife Kalpana (30) and set her on fire in March 2007 at Manirpara here.

He was a carpenter and his wife worked in a bakery.
