One person was today
allegedlybeaten to death by a group of people after he entered an house near here in the wee hours to steal.
Inmates raised an alarm after they noticed the intruder and locked him in, police said.
Neighbours and others gathered, tied the man up and when they questioned him, he started speaking in Hindi. They thrashed him severely and he collapsed and died, police said.
Doctors at the government general hospital here declared him brought dead when he was taken by police there, police said.
The victim is yet to be identified.
A case under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting) and 302 (punishment for murder has been registered against seven persons including the house owner Kandaswamy.
