A 35-year-old villager from Murbad was today arrested for allgedly beating his elder sister to death over a dispute, police said.
PSI RB Gaikwad of Murbad police station told PTI that the incident occured yesterday when accused Anil Dharma beat his sister Vimal (59) with an iron rod, resulting in her death on the spot.
The brother-sister duo were locked in a court dispute.
The woman's body was sent for postmortem to a local hospital and an offence under section 302 of the IPC was registered against the accused.
