A child was bitten by a monkey allegedly set on him by its owner during a quarrel here yesterday night, police said.
The owner of the monkey has been booked on the complaint of the minor's father under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, police added.
"The accused and his neighbour, Asgarali Khan, are neighbours and have a history of altercations over petty issues. Yesterday night, during one such quarrel, the accused allegedly set his pet monkey on the child. The monkey bit the minor," Kashimira police officials said.
The child was discharged after treatment at a local hospital, police said, adding that further investigation into the complainant's allegations were underway.
