Man commits suicide over 'harassment' from in-laws

A man allegedly committed suicide here due to 'harassment' from in-laws, police said.

Police have recovered a suicide note in which the victim, Amir, said that he is ending his life as he suspected that his father-in-law would kill him and his family.

Amir was being harassed by his father-in-law Shahabuddin and his four brothers, according to the complaint filed by the victim's father.

The incident took place on July 5 and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC today, Investigating Officer Rameshwar Dayal said.

No arrest has been made and the matter is being investigated, he said.
