A 45-year-old man today allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Balakund area here, with police saying that he was disturbed due to harassment by his wife.
"Ashok Nagar was disturbed by the treatment meted out to him by his wife who is a nurse and lives in some other district of the state," a police official said.
A purported suicide note was recovered stating he was ending his life "due to the harassment and torture by his wife," police said.

Police has lodged a case of abetment to suicide under section 306 of IPC against his wife while the investigation into the authenticity of the suicide note and other aspects is underway.
The body was handed over to the family after postmortem by a medical board, the police official added.
