Man gets life imprisonment for rape of minor girl

In less than three months of the case being registered, a local court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment and slapped a penalty of Rs 27,500 on him for raping a four-year-old girl.

District and Sessions judge P N Chadha convicted Pawan Kumar Vishnoi, 38, for kidnapping the girl, who was sleeping with her mother on a pavement outside Sikar railway station, and raping her on October 11, public prosecutor Shivratan Sharma said.

The girl survived following a prolonged treatment at a private hospital in Jaipur.

The convict was arrested in Bikaner's Nokha town, a few days after the incident and booked under various sections of IPC including 376 for rape, the public prosecutor said.
