A local court in Jodhpur has awarded two years rigorous imprisonment to a worker, employed with the public health and engineering department in Jalore district, for accepting a bribe of Rs 800.
Shamsher Khan, who was posted in PHED office in Jalore as a helper, was caught by Anti Corruption Bureau while taking a bribe of Rs 800 from one Jagmal Singh for providing a water supply line to his house in 2008.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1000 on Khan.
He was found guilty of the crime and was awarded imprisonment by the court in Jodhpur under Prevention of Corruption Act, IG ACB Smita Srivastava said.
