A 40-year-old woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over marital discord under TP Nagar police station area here, following which he was arrested, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the victim, identified as Vandana Gurjar, was attacked with a spade by her husband Sompal (45), killing her on the spot, police said.
The accused was arrested and the spade recovered from his possession, they said.
The couple was reportedly in a strained relationship and used to have frequent altercations for the last five years over each other's alleged extramarital relationship, they added.
A case has been registered in this connection and Sompal has been sent to jail, they said.
