Man held for making abusive calls gets bail

An engineer arrested for allegedly making abusive phone calls to daughter of senior BJP leader M Venkiah Naidu was today granted bail by a court here.

Principal Sessions Judge G Chokkalingam allowed the bail application of Ramesh Kumar, arrested on June 22 on a complaint by Deepa Venkat, daughter of Naidu and a businesswoman based here.

Venkat, in her complaint to cyber crime police, had stated that she was receiving "abusive and menacing calls" frequently from a particular mobile number.
