Man held for sodomising 6-yr-old

A 35-year-old man from Nala Sopara near Vasai in district, has been arrested for allegedly sodomising a six-year-old boy, police said today.

The accused was arrested yesterday, Assistant Police Inspector (API) S S Jadhav of Tulinj police station of Vasai division said.

"The accused (whose identity has been withheld) worked at a builder's office. On August 14, he brought the minor to the office on the pretext of offering him chocolates, but allegedly sodomised him there. The victims' parents later lodged a complaint," Jadhav said.

Police have charged the accused under IPC section 377 (unnatural offences) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), police added.
