Man killed by elephants in Chhattisgarh

A man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, a forest official said on Wednesday.
Kapleshwar Bhuihar (48) wasattackedby wild elephants on Tuesday night in a forest near Lamikhar when he and his friend were returning to Kaushalpur village on motorcycle.
"Bhuihar, who was riding the bike, died on the spot while his friend on the pillion managed to flee," the official said.
After learning about the incident, forest officials reached the spot Wednesday morning and sent the body for autopsy, he added.
The deceased man's family was provided an immediate aid of Rs 25,000, he said.
The districts of Surguja, Jashpur, Koriya, Balrampur, Surajpur, Korba and Raigarh are infamous for frequent human- elephantconflict incidents.
