Man killed daughter injured in road mishap

A man was killed and his daughter injured when the cycle in which they were travelling was hit by a truck near Gulnagar traffic junction on the outskirts of the township, police said today.

The incident occurred when one Madhabananda Behera Devangan (45) was riding a cycle with his daughter on the pillion and the two-wheeler was hit by a truck killing him on the spot last evening. His daughter was injured.

Devangan was returning home with his daughter who was appearing for teachers' training course examination.

The truck was seized while its driver fled, police said.
