Man kills his wife in Haryana

A 22-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Pavti village in the district, police said today.

The victim, Rekha Devi, was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon by her husband Sandeep, who brought her to a secluded place here from their home in Rajasthan's Alwar district, they said.

According to police, after killing his wife, Sandeep allegedly set her on fire after sprinkling petrol on her body, they said.

A case has been registered, they said, adding that the cause behind the murder was not yet known and efforts were on to nab the accused.
