Man kills pregnant wife on suspicion of character

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband on suspicion of her character in Jeedimetla here, police said today.

Mohd Hussain strangled his wife, who was seven-month pregnant, to death at their house last midnight, Jeedimetla police station inspector A Chandra Shekhar said quoting from a complaint lodged by the woman's father.

"The complainant has alleged that Hussain killed his daughter as he was suspecting her character," the police officer said.

A case of murder was registered in connection with the incident and efforts are on to trace Hussain who is on run.
