Man knocked down by Army vehicle

A 60-year-old man was today killed after being knocked down by an Army vehicle at Keisampa Churachandpur bus stand area in Imphal West district, police said.

Yumnam Surendro of Kongjeng Hajari Leikai area, who was run over by the Army vehicle, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, they said.

The Army vehicle was impounded by Imphal West police and a case has been registered.

The body has been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for post-mortem, police said.
