Man sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping step-daughter

A local court today sentenced a 60-year-old man to five years imprisonment for sexually assaulting his 15-year-old step daughter about two years ago.

The prosecution case was that Bhagyanathan (then 58) had raped his step daughter on September 10, 2013, after making her unconscious by mixing sleeping pills in soft drinks.

Mahila court judge G Raja ordered the convict to undergo five years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
