Man shot dead at friend's house

A 24-year-old man was shot dead at a friend's house in Howrah district today, shortly before he was to go to hospital to see his one-day-old daughter, the police said.

Sanjay Das had gone to a friend's place at Dasnagar in the afternoon and was supposed to accompany him to the hospital where his wife delivered a baby girl yesterday.

However, three men arrived in the friend's house and gunned Das down, the police said adding the reason of the killing is being investigated.
