Man, son shot by unidentified assailants

A teacher and his son were shot at by three unidentified persons in Atraulia area today, police said here.

Badruddin (55), who teaches at an inter-college, and his advocate son Ahmad (25) were shot by the three motorcycle-borne assailants this morning, Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen said.

The duo were rushed to the district hospital, but Badruddin was later referred to Varanasi in a serious condition.

Police suspect old rivalry as the possible motive behind the incident.
