Man stabbed to death for 'helping' cousin sister elope in UP

A man was stabbed to death and and his brother seriously injured allegedly by their uncles for "helping" a cousin sister elope, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday. Vijay was killed and his brother Ajay seriously injured when the woman's uncles allegedly attacked them with sharp-edged weapons in Shamli district.

The two brothers were attacked because they "helped" their cousin sister elope against the wishes of her family, police said.

A case has been registered against the accused Ramkumar and Vikas. They have been arrested and the weapons used for committing the crime seized.

The injured person has been rushed to a hospital.
