A man allegedly stabbed his wife to death and later committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Kotwali area here, police said today.
Domestic discord was believed to be the reason behind the gruesome tragedy, they said.
Satish, aged 27, and Vimla (24) got married three years back but due to some differences the latter left her husband's house and started living with her parents.
Apparently perturbed over this, Satish attacked his wife with a knife yesterday, Additional Superintendent of Police Udai Shanker Singh said.
Vimla succumbed to stab wounds, he said, adding Satish fled after committing the crime.
Later, his body was found hanging from a tree today near Shahgarh Railway station, SP Sonia Singh said.
