A 24-year-old man was swept away in a swollen nullah in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi here, civic officials said today.
The incident took place last evening near Kamathghar area when the victim, identified as Happy Kanozia, was returning from work on his motorcycle from Oswalwadi in the town.
He lost control over his bike and slipped into the nullah, which was overflowing due to heavy rains in the last days, disaster control cell (DCC) officer of Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation Suresh Gaikwad told PTI.
The incident took place at around 5:45 pm and the body was fished out by fire brigade personnel in the wee hours today, an official of Narpoli police station said.
