Canadian officials say a man with a knife has been arrested during the changing of the guard on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
It's unclear if the incident is related to the mass shooting in Toronto.
The Canadian military said in a statement that the incident took place yesterday morning on the lawns of Parliament Hill.
The statement says that a "potential threat" was neutralised due to the quick reaction of soldiers, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Parliamentary Protective Services. No one was injured.
Ottawa Police are investigating and the military gave no further details.
A 29-year-old gunman opened fire on pedestrians in a bustling Toronto neighbourhood, killing two and wounding a dozen others, police in Canada's largest city said yesterday, adding the suspect was found dead in an alley after an exchange of gunfire with police.
