Shares of Manappuram Finance today surged nearly 6 per cent after the company registered an over two-fold jump in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 2016.
The stock gained 5.81 per cent to end at Rs 98.35 on BSE. During the day, it soared 12.96 per cent to Rs 105.
At NSE, shares of the company surged 5.42 per cent to close at Rs 98.15.

On the volume front, 40.52 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 2 crore shares changed hands at NSE during the day.
Manappuram Finance yesterday registered an over two-fold jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 202.54 crore for third quarter ended December 2016.
Its net profit in the corresponding October-December quarter of 2015-16 was Rs 100.34 crore.
"Total consolidated operating income during the quarter registered an increase of 46.1 per cent to Rs 900.51 crore against Rs 616.2 crore reported in the year ago quarter," the company said in a release.
Also, the Board of Directors of the company approved payment of interim dividend of Rs 0.50 per share of face value of Rs 2 each.
