Maoist arms dump found in East Godavari forest

The dump in forest near Palagadda in Y Ramavaram mandal contained weapon spare parts, GI pipes used for rocket launchers, detonators, wires and plastic drums containing grenades, police said.

Maoist literature, large quantity of ammunition such as gunpowder wrapped in plastic, hacksaw blades, nuts and bolts and springs used for trigger mechanism in guns, among other items, were also found at the the site, they said.

The stockpile is being brought to Kakinada for examination by ballistic experts, the police added.
